Job Opening: Science Writer/ Editor for Nanyang Technological University (Singapore)
Responsibilities:

* To raise awareness of SCELSE’s activities and for publicity purposes, within the Centre, Universities as well as to external research organization
* To write and edit in house brochures, newsletters, annual reports, research updates, press releases, text for the web site, and policy briefs
* Manage in house or contract designers and printing and dissemination of online and print materials
* Ensure a regular supply of fresh content such as research updates, and other public awareness stories
* Assign and manage feature articles and educational materials contracted to outside contributors and translators when needed
* Support SCELSE scientists in preparing high-quality speeches and presentations for media conferences and other events
* Identify and deliver on research findings and progress delivered by the research teams within SCELSE

Requirements :

* Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized university, preferably in journalism, communications or English
* Ability to meet deadlines and work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* A minimum of 5 to 7 years experience as a journalist or science writer
* Proven ability to interact with a team of international scientists and other technical experts
* Able to translate content into compelling stories
* Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
* Familiarity with web and print publishing procedures, and Web 2.0 technologies such as RSS feeds, blogs and podcasting
