Position: Associate Editor, Knowledge@SMU

Responsibilities

* Assist in the day-to-day editorial and administrative operations of the Knowledge@SMU publication
* Write, interview and report on relevant research, conferences, lectures and panel discussions
* Perform checks and edits on articles for accuracy, style and format
* Support the publishing and dissemination of SMU's online journal
* Guide SMU's research centres and institutes (RCIs) with their editorial projects

Requirements

* Degree in journalism, social sciences or business with at least 3-5 years experience in publishing, production and/or web-mastering within a news media organisation
* Relevant disciplines in finance, economics, marketing and/or information technology would an advantageous
* Ability to engage thought leaders, academics and researchers on various domains and specialisations
* Conversant with journalism practices and conventions
* Understand quantitative academic research and analyses
* Familiar with web publishing, online marketing and analytics; CRM know-how an advantage
* Flair for design, information technology and audio-video production would be an advantage
