EDITOR

Overview of Position:

The Routledge Education list is very well-established and successful in the UK, USA and Europe. We now have a very exciting opportunity to recruit an Editor to commission new books in Education, authored by academics in the SE Asia region. Based in our offices in Singapore, the position reports to Anna Clarkson, Editorial Director for the Education books programme, based in the UK.

Job Summary:

* Proactive commissioning of new books to a defined list of target projects, in line with revenue and profitability targets and with the strategic aims of the list.
* Campus visiting and regional travel, which will involve meetings with authors and conference attendance.
* Market research and devising a forward-thinking strategy for the list.
* Developing new ideas for projects (book and electronic) as well as advancing projects under discussion.
* Managing the delivery and handover of contracted manuscripts to production.
* Contributing to the day-to-day management of the list.
* Liaising with colleagues within the Routledge/Taylor & Francis Group.

Educational and Work Experience:

* Previous experience of academic publishing in an editorial role.
* Acute commercial awareness and drive.
* Ability to manage and prioritise a large and varied workload.
* Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
* Numerate.
* Computer literate.
* Keen interest in education.
* Sensitive to cross-cultural dynamics.
* Self-motivated.
* Confident, professional and customer-focused.
* Good team player.
* Adaptable and willing to learn.
