Are you a budding writer between 17 – 25 years old? This is your chance to hone your skills! Be part of the Tamil creative writing workshop facilitated by Mr R. Thuraimanikam, Vice President of the Singapore Tamil Writers Association. You will get to submit your short story for the Golden Point Award 2011 with registration fees waived.

Register with Thiruselvi_Gopal@nlb.gov.sg together with your full name, IC no and hp no. by 20 May.

Only those who have not published any works will be eligible to register.

Mentor:

R. Thuraimanikam is the Vice President of the Singapore Tamil Writers Association. He has written for Tamil language newspapers like Tamil Murasu, Tamil Malar and Tamil Nesan and he was the Editor of magazines like “Mannavar Poonga” and “Kolgai Mullakam”. He has also compiled short stories he wrote for the Singapore Tamil radio into two books, “Vallar Pirai” (Crescent) and “Yellai Kottu” (Boundary). One of his short story compilations,“Kalam Kadanthu Vittathu” (Time Has Passed) was published in 1990, in conjunction with the celebration of Singapore’s 25th National Day. His short story, ‘Ippadiyum Oru Thaai’ was selected for Read! Singapore 2010. He is also a committee member of the National Book development Council of Singapore.
