The 19th Annual Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture (Sept. 11-12 at Point Fermin Park, San Pedro, CA) is coming and the planning process is in full swing! FPAC is the largest celebration of Filipino arts and culture, presenting over 1,000 artists and cultural bearers from all over the nation every year. If you are interested in performing or displaying art at this year's festival, please apply online and upload the required documents. Submissions are due by July 23, 2010.
We encourage professional, amateur, hobbyist, and traditional artists to apply. The festival is open to any form of art: Traditional Folk Arts, Dance, Theatre, Music, Visual Arts, Media Arts, Literary Arts, Arts Education, and Presenters. A submission of your application is an opportunity to reach an audience of over 25,000 people during the FPAC weekend, and it is also an invitation to join the Pilipino Artist Network (PAN). PAN artists are connected to valuable resources in their respective disciplines and are identified within an emerging artist network.
All submissions will go through a Curatorial Panel. Each submission will be reviewed by field experts in order to highlight the diversity of the Filipino experience. Each year the festival receives more submissions than we can program. Therefore, this process will be based on artistic quality, potential audience draw and variety of representation of the community.
Artisan Exhibitor booths and PAN Pavilion consignment opportunities are currently available. Act now and reserve your exhibition space today. Contact the PAN Pavilion Coordinator, Justine Calma, at justine@filamarts.org or at the FilAm ARTS office at 213-380-3722.
