Job Vacancy: Senior Content Editor for Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (government agency | UAE)
The Government Contents Editor handles the editing and placement/clustering of content and government services on the Abu Dhabi Government portal. He/she ensures the relevance of the content as well as a user-friendly design of the portal by interacting with channel managers, content managers and the Abu Dhabi government shared services organization.

1. Build up, maintain and improve portal related government services:
  • Integrate new services and content as well as validate, update and maintain existing services
  • Refresh old photos, integrate new photos
  • Update and maintain placement and clustering of government services
  • Ensure user-friendly services / context sensitivity by requesting feedback from users and government entities as well as interacting with the call centre

2. Ensure accuracy of government services as well as their relevance from a user perspective:
  • Continuously evaluate information needs
  • Liaise with Strategy & Planning department on the prioritization of government entities and services to be modernized and integrated on the portal
  • Liaise with other sections and division heads to identify new valuable content

3. Liaise with other entities to improve customer service offerings, e.g.:
  • Portal content related initiatives (Call Centre, Kiosks, Tele Centres, etc.)
  • Internal and external entities that gather end user feedback, like Business Excellence, Communications and Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi

4. Provide input for press-releases regarding new services and content updates

5. Ensure a user-friendly design of government services:
  • Establish feedback loops with users
  • Process mystery calls to assess contact centre performance
  • Set up training and development program for contact centre agents

6. Follow up with entities on content publication and ensure broad involvement

7. Liaise with the Abu Dhabi government shared services organization

8. Experience in using social media

9. Mentor and lead junior staff

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Communication Management or other related field

EXPERIENCE:
  • Ideally 5-7 years experience in a government organization
  • At least five years of solid writing and editing experience, preferably with industrial products
  • 3 years experience in a graphics design / media environment
  • Experience in Information Management
  • Experience in web design, content management systems and web databases
  • Experience in media design and image editing
  • Experience with Web technologies and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)

SKILLS:
  • Excellent oral and written English and Arabic language skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Strong analytical, creative, and organizational skills
  • Highly motivated and possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Goal oriented, detail oriented, meticulous, and quality driven
  • Excellent skills in media design / image editing software
  • Deep understanding of content lifecycles
  • Distinctive service orientation and customer focus
  • Ability to deal with strategic and operational issues simultaneously and to build effective working relationships with project team members and project stakeholders

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Communication Management or other related field
