The Newsroom functions as a pool of writers and editors. The Writer Editors prepare material for multiple channels as needed on a content-by-content basis as assigned by Supervisor. Writer Editors are able to multi-task across channels and may capture multiple content inputs through text, audio, photo and video, depending on event and capability.
Amongst other duties, this senior editorial role is responsible for the production of both print and electronic publications, including weekly, monthly and ad hoc materials and management of the overall editorial calendar and content plan for publications and publication production.
Minimum Requirements
BA or BS degree
10 years plus experience in Journalism/PR/Communications
Excellent English writing and editing skills
Duties & Responsibilities
Edits news items, features and columns written by staff or contributors by checking for factual accuracy, making certain copy conforms with Company editorial policy and checking all details of editorial style for consistency with the relevant publication-style manual.
Writes articles on major Company operations and projects, often consulting with subject matter specialists including special diversified stories conducting interviews and researching subject matter, as necessary, to develop information.
Follows all production steps at the local press as assigned. This includes after-hours work and weekends as necessary.
Clears articles for publication by submitting draft to concerned members of management up to and including the Chairman of the Board.
Originates, updates/edits booklets and brochures as required by all Aramco departments. These include booklets on the oil industry, benefits pamphlets, recruitment brochures, training booklets, etc., involving consulting references and other sources for authenticity and accuracy.
Writes/edits material used by all departments in written and audio- visual productions intended for presentation or distribution both within and outside the Aramco community. This includes editing for style and compliance with Company policies on sensitive issues.
