Lecturer in Japanese Language

The University of British Columbia is accepting applications for one renewable 12 month lecturer position (1 year contract) in Japanese language, commencing July 1, 2011. Reappointment will be subject to performance. The successful applicant will teach 24 credits of Japanese Language courses, possibly from first to fourth- year, over the calendar year as well as assist the Coordinator of the Japanese Language Program in program administration and development.

Applicants are required to have native or near-native fluency in Japanese and English, a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, Japanese Linguistics, Language Education, or related fields and extensive teaching experience at the college/university level in North America. Strong interest in technology-based/content-based instruction and in curriculum development is a plus. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
