Job Description
You will play a vital role in managing the entire book production cycle from providing guidance to the authors to evaluating manuscript submissions to preparing books for final print and online publication. This is a highly challenging role which consists of the following primary duties:
1. Project Management – to oversee the whole editorial and production operations for academic and professional books to ensure that each editorial process ranging from copyediting and proofreading to cover design and typesetting is fully met and delivered on time.
2. Copyediting – to copyedit important projects assigned by the Publisher with a keen eye for detail and rectify manuscript errors ranging from spelling, grammar and punctuation to writing style, sense and clarity.
3. Supporting Authors – to coordinate with and provide assistance to authors whenever needed by performing tasks such as seeking copyright permissions, redrawing illustrations, relabeling, indexing, etc.
4. Product Information – to work with authors and the Editorial Manager to develop product/marketing information for the different sales channels.
5. Authors’ Resources – to work with the Editorial Manager and Publisher in creating an effective Authors’ Resources webpage and to enhance the manuscript guidelines, templates and style files so that they are in line with those prevalent in the industry.
6. Managing Relationships – to manage and improve corporate relations with customers, authors and business partners.
