We would like to inform you that Brotherhood, pioneer in organizing film festival on disability issues in India, is organizing 8th edition of We Care Filmfest 2011 in association United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan, UNESCO, National Trust, Asian Academy of Film & Television, AYJ National Institute of Hearing Handicapped, Mumbai and Trinayani, Mumbai which will travel to about 51 venues across India and SAARC countries from August 2010 to May 2011.
To promote film festival and to involve professionals and persons with and without disability working in the disability sector as part of the upcoming film festival on disability issues, the organizers of We Care Filmfest and Rehabilitation Council of India are organizing Script Writing workshop for professionals with and without disability working in the disability sector from September 6-10, 2010 at Marwah Studios Complex, FC 14/15, Film City, Sector 16A, Noida (U.P.) from 10 am to 4 pm daily.
The purpose of organizing the workshop is to enhance the communication skill of the professionals with and without disability working in the disability sector so that they can learn to communicate issues and concerns related to disability through the medium of films and documentaries.
We are inviting 1) professionals with and without disability working in the disability sector and 2) persons with any impairment viz. hearing impairment, visual impairment, physical impairment, leprosy cured, cerebral palsy, autism etc. Participants will be encouraged to write scripts during the workshop. Organizers will make short film / documentaries on these scripts and also will invite individual films makers to make short film and documentaries on these scripts. These short films and documentaries will also be screened during the 8th edition of We Care film festival 2011. Credit will be given to the script writers.
Total no. of participants will be 20. The participants will be taught scriptwriting by interactive sessions and theory classes. Seats will be allotted on “first – cum – first basis. Last date of registration is August 31, 2010. Fees: Rs.1000/- per participant for five days.
We hope at the end of the workshop we will have approximately 10-20 scripts of one minute and five minute categories. Certificate of participation will be distributed to the participants.
