John Glassco Translation Prize (Canada)
The John Glassco Literary Translation Prize, is awarded annually by the Literary Translators' Association of Canada for a translator’s first published book-length literary translation.

The $1,000 prize, created in 1982 in memory of writer and literary translator John Glassco, is awarded for a translator's first book-length literary translation into French or English, published in Canada during the previous year. Fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, and children's literature are eligible. The translator must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

John Glassco, after whom the prize is named, was a well-known writer and translator who died in 1981. Among his works are translations into English of the poetry and journals of Saint-Denys Garneau.

Submissions may be made by anyone interested, by forwarding four copies of the translated work and one copy of the original to the Glassco Prize Committee, LTAC, LB–601, Concordia University, 1455 De Maisonneuve Blvd. W., Montreal, Quebec H3G 1M8.
