Scholarship Requirements
• Be a U. S. citizen
• List service activities in high school and community
• Of Arab American heritage
• Meet admissions criteria of Kettering University
• Submit 2 letters recommendation
• Agree to provide career data upon graduation
• Complete an essay outlining leadership experiences, career aspirations and personal goals
Instructions
1. Apply for admission to Kettering University as an incoming freshman.
2. Download the application form from the ACCESS website (http://www.accesscommunity.org),
request a copy from a National Network for Arab American Communities (NNAAC) listed on the
ACCESS website, or ask your high school counselor.
3. Two non-family letters of recommendation must be submitted. Fill in your name, phone number and email address in on the reference letter instruction forms and give them to the individuals writing the letters on your behalf.
4. Submit an essay describing the following:
• career aspirations • Arab American ancestry • reasons for choosing the career goal(s)
• preparation for career • leadership and volunteer activities in the community and/or school
(no more than two 8.5” x 11” typed, double-spaced pages with 1-inch margins)
5. Include an official high school transcript in a sealed envelope with your application.
6. Have the results of a completed Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) on file at
Kettering University’s (Federal School Code: 002262) financial aid office at. If you need help filling out the FAFSA form, please contact Kettering’s financial aid office.
7. Mail the completed application with your essay and sealed recommendations and transcripts to: The Russell J. Ebeid ’62 ACCESS Scholarship Committee, ACCESS, 2651 Saulino Court, Dearborn, MI 48120
