We currently specialize in Arabic <> English but we would like to enhance our capabilities in French <> Arabic.
We will give preference to Arab females because our agency is women-run and operated.

Vacancy, Classical Arabic Literature Teaching Position, American University in Cairo
Founded in 1919, AUC moved to a new 270-acre state-of-the-art campus in New Cairo in 2008. The University also operates in its historic downtown facilities, offering cultural events, graduate classes, and continuing education. Student housing is available in both downtown Zamalek and New Cairo. Among the premier universities in the region, AUC is Middle States accredited; its Engineering programs are accredited by ABET and the Management program is accredited by AACSB. AUC is an English-medium institution; eighty-five percent of the students are Egyptian and the rest include students from nearly ninety countries, principally from the Middle East, Africa and North America. Faculty salary and rank are based on qualifications and professional experience. Job Description: The Department of Arab and Islamic Civilizations is inviting applications for an open-rank tenurable or tenure-track professorial position with a teaching experience in the primary sources at the university level. Successful applicant is expected to teach courses in all genres of Classical Arabic Literature; poetry and prose from the pre-Islamic through the modern periods. Courses will be conducted in both Arabic and English. Successful candidates will teach three courses per semester at the undergraduate, graduate and Core Curriculum levels.
Reuirements: PhD by September 2011 is required. The applicant is expected to have an MA and PhD in Classical Arabic Literature. Additional Information: Tenure track position.

Qassim Haddad's Poetry to be Translated into English

The National Endowment for the Humanities is funding Professor Ferial Ghazoul's project of translating Qassim Haddad's poetry from Arab to English. The funding is in the amount of $100,000. Qassim Haddad is an influential cultural figure in Bahrain who has received the Owais Cultural Foundation Prize for Poetry. Ferial Ghazoul is a professor at the American University in Cairo, which is a vital bridge between East and West, linking Egypt and the region to the world through scholarly research and partnerships with academic institutions.
