Qassim Haddad's Poetry to be Translated into English

The National Endowment for the Humanities is funding Professor Ferial Ghazoul's project of translating Qassim Haddad's poetry from Arab to English. The funding is in the amount of $100,000. Qassim Haddad is an influential cultural figure in Bahrain who has received the Owais Cultural Foundation Prize for Poetry. Ferial Ghazoul is a professor at the American University in Cairo, which is a vital bridge between East and West, linking Egypt and the region to the world through scholarly research and partnerships with academic institutions.
