Victims and survivors of Mirsarai tragedy are suffering from different types of mental illnesses. The number of persons with psychosocial disabilities has increased in Mirsarai due to absence of psychosocial care and support.
To highlight this issue in print media, Unite Theatre for Social Action has launched an award for journalists that will help in increasing GoB officials' positive concern towards mental health rights.
Journalists are encouraged to visit Mirsarai tragedy survivors community to learn about their psychosocial conditions and develop a report for publication in any newspaper by the 30th of September. The best reporter will receive an award on World Mental Health Day, October 10th, in Chittagong.
