The Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) invites entries for the GIC Essay Prize 2011/2012, administered by the Centre for Asset Management Research & Investments (CAMRI) at NUS Business School.
The title of the Essay is "What is the future impact on global investments from the expected growth in Asia?".
ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to all undergraduate students (pursuing Bachelor’s degrees) studying in Singapore and all Singaporean/Singapore PR undergraduate students (pursuing Bachelor’s degrees) studying abroad.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
Undergraduate students who meet the eligibility requirements are invited to submit an entry. The following rules and regulations will apply:
1. The Competition is open to all undergraduate students (pursuing Bachelor’s degrees) studying in Singapore and all Singaporean/Singapore PR undergraduate students (pursuing Bachelor’s degrees) studying abroad.
2. Entries must be written in English and the result of individual effort. Each undergraduate student can only submit one essay. Group work is not eligible.
3. Entries must be the original work of the author and must not have been submitted to any other competition organized by any other organization or been previously published.
4. The essays should be of about 2000 words (excluding references, footnotes, tables, appendices, charts), double-spaced, in Times New Roman size 12 font, on A4-size paper with all pages numbered.
5. Each entry should be accompanied by a 300-word abstract that summarizes the main points of the essay.
6. The official cover sheet, properly filled in, must accompany each entry. The author’s name should not appear on the abstract and in the main essay. Click here to download the cover sheet.
7. Essays are to be submitted either in Microsoft Word or in Portable Document Format (PDF) by email to gic.essay.prize@nus.edu.sg. Receipt of essays will be acknowledged.
8. The deadline for essay submissions has been extended from March 9, 2012 to June 29, 2012, 2359 hours Singapore time.
9. All essays will undergo a blind review process and will be assessed in confidence by an independent panel of judges. Decisions made by the panel of judges shall be final. Results of the competition will be announced from June 2012 onwards. The panel reserves the right not to award any or all of the prizes.
10. Immediate family members of the judging committee are not eligible to enter the essay competition.

SUBMISSION
The deadline for essay submissions has been extended from March 9, 2012 to June 29, 2012, 2359 hours Singapore time. Entries should be submitted to gic.essay.prize@nus.edu.sg. Receipt of entries will be acknowledged and only winning participants will be contacted upon finalization of the results.
