Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Akademi has decided to organize a Punjabi story competition in the month of May 2012.
While stating this, Director of the Akademi Sukhchain Singh Bhandari said that Punjabi story writers could submit their new stories on or before April 30, 2012. These stories should be unpublished. He said that cash awards of Rs.500, Rs.300 and Rs.200 would be given to those who would bag first, second and third positions respectively in the competition. Apart from giving books, consolation prizes would also be awarded.
A special issue of Shabad Boond, a publication of Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Akademi, entitled as 'Haryana Di Punjabi Kahanai' would also be published in the month of May 2012. He said that stories reflecting Punjabi culture, literature and social life would be given priority in the selection for publication in this issue. These could be contributed by March 30,2012.
