Asia Europe Foundation Short Story Contest | SG$1,000 top prize | Asia-wide
Deadline: 3 August 2013

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) is partnering with the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival to launch its first online short story contest, Long Way Home, via the culture360.org platform.

This initiative seeks to reinforce Asia-Europe exchanges and deepen mutual understanding between cultural communities in the two regions through creative storytelling based on travel experiences.

The online contest aims to support emerging writers from ASEM member countries and unveil new talents in the literary field from both regions. In August, ten contestants will be shortlisted by renowned literary judges after which one Asian and one European winner will be chosen by members of the public on culture360.org.

Awards include individual cash prizes of SGD 1000 each as well as travel and accommodation to attend the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival in October 2013.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS:

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) and its partner the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival are now looking for submissions to Long Way Home, Asia-Europe Short Story Contest.

The theme of the Asia-Europe Short Story Contest is travel. In this framework, what is expected from writers is not travel writing but creative writing that uses the theme travel as the premise for a short fiction.
