The fourth edition of “ICRC Award for Journalists” is recognition of the humanitarian spirit of journalist, who amplify the plight of hundreds of thousands of Pakistani victims of fighting and armed violence.

Type of award: 02 print media awards, Urdu & English, 02 electronic media awards in Urdu only, 02 radio awards in Pashto and Urdu

Award Money: PKR 50,000 each

Topics

* Uprooted and vulnerable: the victims of armed violence in Pakistan (Print Media)
* The threat to rescue and health workers in situations of armed violence (Electronic Media)
* Armed violence: ensuring humanitarian assistance for the most vulnerable (Radio)

Eligibility

* Recognized affiliations with at least one media outlet.
* Press club membership
* Submission of entry with the approval of the journalist’s institution.
* If the entry is a shared work of two or more journalists, the applicants should clearly indicate that in the application. It will be the responsibility of the applicants to obtain the consent of co-workers. The ICRC will only consider the applicants for the award.
* The story must have been produced and published between 1st May 2009-16th July 2011. The application must include the date of publication / broadcast.

Conditions

* The ICRC retains the final authority in the selections of entries for the award.
* The last date of submission of entries is 17-07-2011.
* The winners will be announced on 15-08-2011.
