Call for Submissions - Imagine(d) Kinships: Asian Film Festival Berlin
For its third edition in October 2011, the Asian Film Festival Berlin is looking for works that take a critical look at traditional bonds of belonging among Asian subjects. We especially welcome films and videos by Asian, Asian transnational and diasporic filmmakers that challenge rules of normalcy with regard to gender and ethnicity.

The 2011 program will be divided into five sections: New Currents, Asian-Diaspora, Short Films, Experimental, and Documentary. However, we do not set any restrictions on length, genre, and production year.

We only accept DVD as preview format. Please do not send your master tapes to us and please label the preview copies clearly with title and contact address. We would like to keep the preview copies for the festival archive, if you agree, and wish to use film excerpts for publicity purposes for the film and the festival.

We are trying to cover screening fees according to length and format of the work wherever possible. However, as a non-profit festival and with only very limited public funding at our disposal, we appreciate your consideration in helping us to reduce and/or waive costs. There is no submission fee and we kindly ask you to fill out the submission form and send it along with your preview copy.
