Chinese Studies Short Story Challenge. Let Your Imagination Run Wild! Be a Writer! Deadline: 28 January 2011
You must give your Chinese Short Story with this Entry Form to your Chinese teacher or to
the 9/F Main Office. Choose from One of These Topics or Create Your Own:
You may choose to submit an entry on your own or team up with your classmate(s) and
submit an entry together. The Chinese teachers and Librarians are all on hand as your
writing resources. Ms. Penny Pan, the head of Chinese, recommends that you independently
use dictionary tools to look up words.
Requirements
All submissions must be in Chinese. For Ages 9 and under your entry must be handwritten.
For ages 10 and above your entry can be handwritten or typed. You may include one or
more illustrations.
1. 10 + words ages 9 and under
2. Up to 100 words ages 10 to 11
3. Up to 500 words ages 12 to 14
4. Up to 850 words ages 15 and above
Awards & Prizes
Two Alan Dick Awards will be given to the two most outstanding stories. A Winner, First and
Second Runner Ups and Honorary Awards will also be given for each grade. Also, special
prizes will be awarded to different types of creativity (For example, Most Funny, Most Scary
etc). Winners may receive Paddyfield gift vouchers and have an opportunity to read their
stories to an audience. Award winning stories may be displayed in the library or published.
