Deadline: 14 February 2011
Since 1986, 93 prestigious media fellowships have offered journalists across Canada with the opportunity to explore and become better informed about Asia, a dynamic and rapidly changing region of the world. Some of Canada’s most recognized broadcasters and journalists have been recipients of this award. Each year, up to four media fellowships are awarded, valued at up to $10,000. In addition, one media fellowship, funded by the Foreign Press Centre Japan, is awarded for an 11-day visit to learn about Japan and the Canada-Japan relationship.
The Foundation is also accepting applications to its Post-Graduate Research Fellowship program offering recent Masters and PhD graduates the opportunity to work for one year at the Foundation’s Vancouver office on a research topic of choice, as well as participate in the daily operations of a think tank. The Post-Graduate Research Fellowship is granted to three recent graduates each year valued at $35,000 and $38,000 annually for Master and PhD graduates, respectively.
Media and Post-Graduate Research Fellowships are part of the Asia Pacific Foundation Grants Program and designed to stimulate informed discussion on Canada’s relations with Asia.
Deadline for all fellowships is February 14, 2011 excluding the Foreign Press Centre Japan Media Fellowship, due on December 15, 2010.
