The Marshall McLuhan Fellowship Award for Investigative Journalism (from the Canadian Embassy in the Philippines)
Since 2007, Sun Life has sponsored the Marshall McLuhan Prize for investigative journalism excellence in the Philippines. The award was created by the Centre for Media Freedom and Responsibility, a non-profit foundation in Manila, and the Canadian embassy as a way to encourage democracy through investigative journalism.

For 2010, The award was given to Ed Lingao, the multimedia director of the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism.
