Acclaimed author Da Chen will host a two-day memoir writing workshop on Oct. 2 and Oct. 3 in New York.

*Saturday, Oct 2: Elements of a Memoir Master Class will touch on: Voice & Prose Style, Narrative Sequences, Dialogue, Theme/Story/Scene Building, Facts vs. Truth, Memory vs. History

**Sunday, Oct 3: Morning writing exercises & afternoon workshop critique of 10-page writing samples submitted by attendees one week prior to class. First 25 samples will be workshop critiqued. The rest will be critiqued with handwritten notes and mailed back after the workshop.

Da Chen’s New York Times bestselling memoirs have been featured in Newsweek, USA Today, CNN International, Fox News Channel, Fox5 TV, The Joan River’s Show, The Diane Rehm Show, and NPR’s Talk of the Nation. Chen’s young adult novel, “Wandering Warrior,” was optioned by Warner Brothers. Chen teaches the master class in memoir and fiction at Fairfield University’s low residency Creative Writing MFA program, and taught at NYU’s prestigious Summer Intensive Creative Writing Workshop.
