The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has been putting forth its utmost efforts to provide useful information for domestic and foreign working holiday makers.
As a part of those efforts, we are pleased to be holding our Working Holiday Experience Writing Contest on a regular basis since its inception last year. And we are honored to invite anyone who has joined working holiday programs after January 1, 2008.
We cordially ask all of you to share your own working holiday experiences from language training, your travels and your preparation for the program. And we also welcome successful employment stories and policy suggestions based on your experiences as well as memorable moments and challenges you had while visiting Korea.
The submission period is from October 18 to December 12. If you need more information about this writing contest, you can refer to http://www.workingholidayinfocenter.org/en/index.asp, the homepage of Working Holiday Info Center (the coordinator of the contest).
Your writing should be less than 2500 words (font size 11, Arial, double-spaced, MS word 97-2007). And you can write your essay in either English, French, or Japanese. You can add less than 5 pictures as attached files.
Along with your entry, you should submit your contact information (your name, telephone number, and email address) on your cover page.
Your writing should be submitted only by e-mail to workingholidayinfocenter@gmail.com.
And all entries should be your own stories, which were not published at an earlier date.
The grand-prize winner will receive 1,000,000 won along with an award certificate. The second-place winner will be given a 500,000 won prize, and third-place winners (10 people) will receive a gift certificate of 50,000 won.
The announcement of the winners will be done before Christmas 2010 and awarding ceremony information will be posted on our homepage: http://www.workingholidayinfocenter.org/en/index.asp.
