Article Writing Contest

This contest is for high quality articles written on specific topics. Each article must consist of no less than 350 words and be 100% original content. You cannot copy articles from other article directories or blogs. Each article will be checked for its originality and quality. The articles you write should be filled with helpful information on one or more of the qualifying categories. The contest begins on June 10th 2010 and will close on August 31st 2010.

Prize: The top 10 writers based on the number of approved articles will have a 1 in 10 chance to win a brand new Lenovo G555 dual core laptop (1).

Contest Rules

* All articles must follow our Content Submission Guidelines.
* Articles must be written in proper English including complete sentences and paragraphs with emphasis on good grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalization and sentence structure.
* Only original and first time published articles will be considered for the contest. YOU CANNOT RE-USE EXISTING ARTICLES.
* Dating, Gambling, Warez, Hacking, and Adult related content will disqualify the author.
* Article spinners are not allowed and will automatically disqualify the author.
* The copyright of the articles submitted will be transferred to ArticlesLane.com and the author should seek our permission before re-publishing the content.
* You must use your first and last name, those with names like “john1234” or “seomaster33” will be disqualified.
* Your email address must have an avatar associated with it.
* Rules and prizes are subject to change/revise without any notice.

Duration of the Contest

This contest begins at 12:01 a.m., PST, on June 10th, 2010 and ends at 11:59 p.m., PST, on August 31st, 2010. Eligible entries received by 11:59 p.m., PST, on August 31st, 2010 will participate in the prize drawing.

2010 Family Circle Fiction Contest (US)

Contest begins March 1, 2010 and ends September 8, 2010. Entries must be postmarked on or before September 8, 2010 and received by September 15, 2010. ENTRY: Submit an original (written by entrant), fiction short story of no more than 2,500 words, typed on 8-1/2x11paper. Entries must be unpublished and may not have won any prize or award. Include your name, address, daytime telephone number and e-mail address (optional) on each page and send to: Family Circle Fiction Contest, c/o Family Circle Magazine, 375 Lexington Avenue, Ninth Floor, New York, NY 10017. LIMIT: Up to two (2) entries per person will be accepted but each entry must be a unique short story. ELIGIBILITY: Legal residents of the 50 United States, and the District of Columbia, 21 years of age or older are eligible to enter. PRIZING: One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive a prize package including a check for $750.00, a gift certificate to one (1) mediabistro.com course of his or her choice, up to a value of $610.00, one (1) year mediabistro.com AvantGuild membership valued at $55.00 and a one (1) year mediabistro.com On Demand Videos membership valued at $160.00. The Johnson Society of London Essay Competition 2010

Pembroke College, Oxford and The Johnson Society of London are pleased to announce that the theme of this year’s Pembroke College Prize is Novelty. The winning essay will be awarded £500 and will be published in The Johnson Society of London’s annual periodical, The New Rambler. There are no set rules about the form or style of the submission, although entrants may wish to bear in mind Johnson’s own ideas about the essay, as exemplified by The Rambler The Idler , and The Adventurer . The closing date for the competition is 30 October 2010: entries received
after this date will not be considered. Please send two copies of your essay to Dr Freya Johnston, St Anne’s College, Oxford OX2 6HS. (Entries by email will not be considered.) Entries should be a maximum of 2,500 words, typed in 12 point, double- spaced and printed on single-sided paper. Pages should be numbered and securely attached. Footnotes and references are not required and should not be included. Please enclose the following details with your essay: your name, address, telephone number and email address, and a signed declaration that the essay is an original piece of your own work.
