Faculty Appointments
The Department of English Language and Literature at the National University of Singapore invites applications for a post at the level of Assistant Professor / Visiting Fellow in Creative Writing. We are looking for someone to teach the writing of poetry, prose or plays, and to help conceptualize and plan a curriculum. The department offers a small but growing number of courses in creative writing, and is keen that further additions will take place in the context of a coherent plan and a developing programme. The appointee will take a key role in conceptualising such developments.
Applicants should have a PhD or other graduate qualification at an equivalent, experience in the teaching of creative writing, and a good record of publication. The National University of Singapore expects the highest standards of teaching and writing from its faculty. In return, it offers excellent terms and conditions. There is considerable support for research and creative work, including grants for research projects, conference funding, and a very well-funded library. Salary will be commensurate with experience and level of appointment.
