Vacancy: Assistant Editor for eFinancialCareers (to be based in Singapore)
eFinancialCareers, the leading international portal for financial jobs and career news, is looking for an Assistant Editor to cover the dynamic Asia Pacific employment markets.

Reporting to the APAC Editor, this Singapore-based position would suit someone with a strong financial-editorial background and a passion for writing cutting-edge content.

It is an opportunity to work at the forefront of online journalism, blogging about the challenges of recruitment and employment in the fast-paced financial services sector.

Job description

* Generating fresh daily ideas for content, and producing engaging, short, tightly-written blogs, for online publication on eFinancialCareers APAC websites, including China, Hong Kong and Singapore.

* Further improving the eFinancialCareers editorial product by developing new, creative types of content which encourage more online reader interaction.

* Maintaining senior-level contacts in recruitment firms and financial services institutions.

* Commissioning third-party expert columns.

* Travelling to cities in the APAC region such as Shanghai and Hong Kong in order to build contacts, source stories and attend conferences.

Requirements

* A genuine flare for writing dynamic, interesting blogs, which engage readers and prompt them to make comments.

* Journalism experience, preferably on a financial or business publication in Asia, with experience of writing short articles, rather than long features.

* Fluent (native-level) written and oral English.

* A working knowledge of career paths and jobs descriptions in the financial sector.

* A tertiary-level journalism qualification is desirable.

* A degree in a banking, finance or business-related subject is also desirable.

* A prior job or internship in the financial services sector would be advantageous.

(Non-journalist candidates from the financial or recruitment industries may also be considered, but only if they can demonstrate strong English-language writing skills and a genuine desire to make a career change into an editorial role.)
