The Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (Yashada) and the Pune Patrakar Pratishthan have jointly organised an essay competition on the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, in which the participants are expected to write their experiences - good or bad - about RTI.
According to a press statement issued by Yashada, the RTI Act will complete five years on October 12 this year and on the occasion an RTI Week will be celebrated from October 5 to 11. The essay competition has been organised to create awareness about the Act.
The participants are expected to write about their experiences related to the last five years. Relevant evidence should be attached to the essays, which should not exceed 1,000 words. The entries should be sent by September 24 to the project officer, public policy centre, Yashada, Raj Bhavan Annexe, Baner Road, Pune-411007; or to the trustee-secretary, Pune Patrakar Pratishthan, Patrakar Bhavan, Ganjve Chowk, Navi Peth, Pune-411030.
The first prize is Rs5,000, second Rs3,000 and the third Rs2,000. Winners would be given certificates. For details, contact Tashada's public policy centre at 020-25608216.
