Description: Instituted in 1979, the Sanskriti Awards were Sanskriti Pratishthan's first project. The Sanskriti Awards aim at inspiring and honouring young talent in India which is striving to attain excellence in their chosen fields, and are also awarded to those who have already demonstrated their mettle in their respective disciplines. The purpose of the awards is to strengthen the awardees' confidence in their own capacity and strength, and to emphasize that they are not alone and unheeded in their endeavor. The Sanskriti Awards are given in the fields of Literature, Journalism, Art, Music-Dance- Theatre, and Social and Cultural Achievements. Over the years, the Sanskriti Awards have become among the most coveted awards in India. Many of the recipients have evolved and distinguished themselves in their chosen field. The Sanskriti Awards are our contribution to the task of nation-building at its most fundamental level. It endorses our solidarity with the significant cultural and social work being done within India as well as with creative and youthful endeavor at its best.
