For Children of Middle East OFWs: 'Young Lives in Transition' Art and Literary Competition (Philippines)
Deadline: 15 October 2012 (submission of entry forms), 7 November 2012 (submission of entries)

What must it feel like for young children of Overseas Filipino Workers to move from one country to another? Is transition easy or difficult, a joyful experience or a struggle? What is the impact of transition on young lives? Adults sometimes tend to take for granted this important part in the life of their children growing up in different places.

Thus, the theme of the competition is, Art as Reality: Young Lives in Transition. Its objective is to provide children of OFWs an opportunity to describe their experience of embracing life in the Middle East using art and literary forms.

Paint or draw, write an essay or poetry, choose any creative form of medium that would best illustrate your personal story of transition and adjustment in a new country. You may also describe your own different ideas of transition and how they relate to your experience as OFW children.

Show your best artistic or literary abilities and win a chance to be published in a coffee table book and featured in an art exhibit to celebrate the 115th Anniversary of Philippine Independence in June 2013. Other major prizes also await the winners.
