The Mayors’ Ramadan Unity Dinner Essay Contest has been launched and is open to all local college students. Prizes include $500, $200 and $100 for first, second and third place respectively. Contest winners will be presented at the dinner on Sept. 7.
College students are asked to address the essay question “How Can Communities Defeat Hunger?” and explain ways in which a community can reach out and help. Essays should be written in English and be 500 words or less. Essays should be written solely by the entrant and not be copied from any other source. Entries should also not have been previously published or in the public domain.
Entries must be submitted to the Mayors’ Ramadan Unity Dinner Facebook page, www.facebook.com/ramadanunitydinner, by Friday, August 24.
