Timpuyog Journal Iluko Poetry Contest (Philippines)

The Iluko Poetry Contest, sponsored by the Lacar Family of Australia and Canada, has so far offered the biggest major prizes in any Ilokano contest in the genre with P10,000 first prize; P7,000 second prize and P5,000. There will be three consolation places at P1,000 including a certificate of recognition or writing excellence.

The poem should be at least 20 but not more than 50 lines.The writer is free to select his theme but the poem should weave into it Iluko culture and tradition. Three poems should be submitted for publication in the Timpuyog Journal, but the poems can be sent on a piecemeal basis via postal delivery and e-mail andrewlab2011@hotmail.com. There is no need for the writer to use a pseudonym. We reserve the right to edit the poem before publication. The original poem is the basis for judging the entry.
