The National Book Development Council of Singapore (NBDCS) presents the 3rd Asian Festival of Children's Content (AFCC) 2012 from 26th to 29th May 2012 at The Arts House, Singapore!
The Festival is comprised of the Primary and Preschool Teachers Congress, Asian Children's Writers and Illustrators Conference, Parents Forum and Media Summit as well as Media Mart and Book Illustrators Gallery. More than 80 speakers and experts, including writers, illustrators, digital artists, producers and designers, from around the world will engage, educate and empower the audience at this Asia’s gateway to the international children’s content market. This festival is for writers, illustrators, preschool and primary school teachers, publishers, printers, librarians, literary and commissioning agents, distributors and retailers, translators, and other professionals related to children’s content.
OUR SPEAKERS INCLUDE:
SARAH ODEDINA
Sarah has been committed to publishing excellent children’s books since 1988. She began her publishing career in the rights department of Penguin Books, moved in 1992 to the Watts Publishing Group and for the past fourteen years served as publishing director of the children’s list of Bloomsbury Publishing – including overseeing and managing the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. She is now managing director of Hot Key Books, a part of Bonnier.

Rukhsana Khan is an award-winning author and storyteller with 11 books published to her credit. Born in Lahore, Pakistan, she has appeared on television and radio, and has been featured at international conferences in Denmark, Mexico, Singapore, Italy, and South Africa, and all across Canada and the U.S.

Suzy Lee received her BFA in painting from Seoul National University, Korea and her MA in Book Arts from Camberwell College of Arts, U.K. Her books, Shadow, Wave and Mirror, were published in 8 countries. She was awarded The New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Books (U.S.A.) twice and also won Gold Medal for Original Art by The Society of Illustrators (U.S.A.).

MARGARITA ENGLE
Margarita Engle is a celebrated Cuban-American author who has received numerous awards for her books. Her first picture book, Summer Birds was translated into Korean and her most recent novel in verse is The Wild Book. Engle lives in northern California and enjoys hiking, birdwatching and helping her husband with his volunteer work.
