Do you love talking with students about your career in journalism? Do interns and younger colleagues gravitate toward you for editing, advice and mentoring?

The journalism training division of United Press International seeks mentors to work with professors and students in college journalism programs around the world.

Asia-based Mentor

Mentor will work closely with UPIU’s Regional Director for Asia to provide mentoring for journalism students at universities in Asia and Oceania.

Applicants should have:

· Solid experience in print/text journalism. (Additional experience in multimedia fields is a plus.)

· Solid editing skills.

· Strong interpersonal relationship skills.

· Passion and patience for mentoring students.

· Extensive experience working in the media industry in Asia.

This is a part-time, contract position. Mentor will work with Asia-based team. Candidates who live in Asia or Oceania are preferred. Applicants should send a resume and cover letter to Harumi Gondo, Regional Director, hgondo@upi.com.
