A short-film competition engaging the young people of Lanao del Sur in their quest for the seemingly elusive peace in Mindanao. Completing the phrase "Peace is" participants will be given the chance to show theircreative ideas and concepts on how to solve Mindanao·s centuries-old problem that hasaffected and shaped their lives. They can also describe what peace simply means throughpowerful images and thoughts. This short film competition seeks to empower the Maranaoyouth to express their concept of PEACE through FILM.


1. Director should be 16-33 years old and must have not joined any major film competition.

2. Director should be from Lanao del Sur. For non-Maranaos, participant must have at leasthad 1 year of residency in Lanao del Sur.

3. Any Digital Camera may be used.

4. The video should be 3-10 minutes long (including OBB/CBB).

5. Use of copyrighted music is prohibited, unless allowed by the owner of the material.

6. Nudity, foul language, slur on religious belief, or any other form of offensive contentshall likewise be prohibited.

7. Film must have readable English subtitles.

8. All entries should be submitted in DVD format.

9. Deadline for submission of entries and stints will be May 31, 2011. Entries should besubmitted to the FDCP Coordinator, Ms. Princess Tarhata L. Pacasum at the 2nd FloorPacasum Square Bldg., Gomisa Ave. (formerly Quezon Ave.) Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur.

10. Announcement of the 7 finalists will be on June 19, 2011. All 7 finalists will becompeting in the Film Festival on June 30, 2011. The Jury will be composed of Filmmakers, the FDCP, and a representative of the Provincial Capitol of Lanao del Sur.11.

Awards Night will be on July 1, 2011. Cash Prizes are as follows:

a. 1st Prize - P25,000

b. 2nd Prize - 15,000

c. 3rd Prize - 5,000
