Job Opening: Writer for Turner Broadcasting/ CNN (Hong Kong)
The Writer works closely with CNN producers and copy editors to craft the latest news for television broadcasts. The writer is expected to conduct research, check facts, construct graphics, contribute ideas for coverage and produce segments within shows.

Job Responsibilities:

• The Writer is responsible to provide accurate scripts for television news including intros to packages, writes to camera, voice-overs, teases and promos.
• Select video as suggested by producer or on own initiative and find appropriate video packages to illustrate story selection by a producer.
• Produce in depth segments within news programs on variety of topics.
• Read newspapers, wire copy and other relevant material to prepare for writing television copy for news programs.
• Prepare on screen graphics to illustrate stories. Write crawls, headlines, bullet-points and graphs. Prepare technical detail on scripts.

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or broadcasting.
• A minimum of 3 years writing copy for print or broadcast journalism experience.
• A thorough understanding of international news.
• Ability to write fast, accurately and creatively.
• With immense interest and understanding of world affairs.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• With editorial knowledge and understanding of mission of network.
• Possess technical skills - iNews, pilots and basic computer knowledge.
