Heavy Industry Equipment Reporter, SouthEast Asia (SouthEast Asia)

Responsibilities:

The Heavy Industrial Equipment reporter in the SouthEast Asia will work closely with OTR Global’s Cyclicals team of editors and reporters to provide relevant and timely marketplace intelligence for the global investment community. The ideal candidate will have journalist, research, or heavy equipment industry background, possess extensive industry contacts in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia. Established network of contacts in Indonesia will be the most important. The reporter should have the ability to develop new relationships with industry experts who can speak to strategic trends in the heavy industrial equipment market. In addition, there may be potential for developing coverage in other industrial settings. The Heavy Industrial Equipment reporter will report to Senior Editor, Industrials who is based in the US.

Requirements:

* Thorough understanding of the SE Asia heavy industrial equipment market
* Extensive industry network of contacts in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia, beyond public relations and investor relations
* Minimum of 3-5 years experience in heavy industrial equipment, investigative journalism experience a plus
* The ability to analyze and identify essential findings
* Good English writing and language skills
* The ability to communicate with sources in various SE Asia countries
* Schedule flexibility is a must due to working with editors in different world time zones
* The ability to maintain a positive attitude, self-motivation and confidence
* Candidate needs to be located in and work in South East Asia
* Telecommuting, flat fee per assignment/project job.
