RE:Writing Our Worlds - The Arts House Singapore Turns Literary
Date: 26 March 2011

The Arts House is turning 7 on a literary pivot - to become a multidisciplinary arts centre with a literary focus. We invite everyone to take part in our celebrations - an Open House on 26 March, and a series of major initiatives that will be rolled out this year. All these programmes embody our theme for the year: Writing Our Worlds.

We envision The Arts House to be the place where ideas meet words, a home for writers, illustrators, educators, artists, kids and families - in fact, everyone - where they can share their stories and ideas through words.

The Open House will boast a day that is filled with literary arts-inspired activities that are free to the public. From book launches and talks to workshops, street art painting, hip hop poetry jam and interactive theatre, all are invited to have fun with text and words.

This year, The Arts House will be launching a number of major initiatives, including The Arts House/NUS University Scholars Programme Writing Residency; Asian Festival of Children's Content; CausewayExchange: The Lighter Side of Singapore; Translation Symposium; and being a key partner of the Singapore Writers Festival.

So come join us to create and write your world!
