Background

Nai Supporting Open Media in Afghanistan is an Afghan media development NGO based in Kabul. Nai was launched in June 2004 and is registered and recognized by the Ministry of Economics of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Nai is also a full member of Internews International (www.internews.tv), an association uniting thirty-one autonomous non-profit organizations working for the development of independent, pluralistic and open media worldwide.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Train journalists on rule of law both at the training center and in the regions.
• Prepare a training material to be used for further training beyond the project cycle.
• Train journalists on how to handle round tables and phone-in programs
• And be flexible with any condition and method of the training
• contribute to the preparation of a training plan
• To prepare press releases and success stories for each training
• Conducting monitoring and evaluation of the training (pre-post tests)
• Facilitate in conducting of round table in Kabul and provinces
• Preparing press release and success stories round tables (press release five days before conducting the round table and success stories after five days)
• Assist Project manager in preparation of monthly progress report and project final report
• Archiving training Material and updating of trainees’ database
• Support other team members
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Be in possession of a university degree either in Journalism or Law.
• At least three years experience in training field and broadcast media.
• Hard working and highly committed
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in Dari, Pashto and English.
• Knowledge of computers application in windows, word, PowerPoint and use of internet.
• Ability to interact with individuals and departments on various training activities.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship.
• Ability and willingness to travel to provinces
