NewsLink was founded in 1997 to address the need of seafarers to keep in touch with developments in their home countries. It was recognized that news from home could help uplift their morale and assist them to become more productive and safety-conscious. Today, NewsLink is the best-in-class provider of news, information and entertainment to over a quarter of the world’s seafarers.

NewsLink is a comprehensive four-page daily that brings news to seafarers from over 40 countries around the world. Each of its editions contains national, community, international, entertainment and sports news. The daily editions are written in English, the official language of mariners. Apart from providing current events, the newspaper is also meant to help improve the readers’ English skills.

In addition to the English editions, NewsLink is also producing the newspaper in other languages.

Foreign Language News Writer/Editor
(National Capital Reg - Makati City)

Requirements:

* Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Journalism, Advertising, Mass Communication or equivalent.
* At least one year of experience in the related language field is required for this position.
* Applicants must be willing to work in Makati City, although other arrangements may be discussed.
* Preferably 1-4 Yrs experience working as Journalist/Editor/Writer or equivalent.
* Required skills: Current knowledge of Ukrainian, Croatian, Polish, Japanese, Greek or Latvian languages. Proficient in writing and editing written works in any of these languages.
* Able to work within given time frames and meet deadlines.
* Self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude.
* 6 Full-Time positions available.
