APS Media Group is a regional publishing house headquartered in Singapore. The organisation also has offices in Malaysia and Indonesia, as well as representatives in Thailand, Vietnam and China. As a publisher, APS Media Group specialises in niche business-to-business magazines for a variety of sectors. Some of markets we serve include furniture, woodworking, and food & beverage. We are looking for highly motivated individuals for the above position to be based in our offices in Singapore and Malaysia.
Editor / Assistant Editor / Senior Writer (Pelangi Damansara - PJ)
Responsibilities :
* Research and collate information, statistics and news on the furniture in specific regions.
* Draw inferences from these data (i.e. export figures) and present them in a coherent manner suitable for publication.
* Interview company owners and government officials for original feature articles. Cover trade exhibitions and conduct interviews on the ground.
Requirements :
* Degree in Journalism, Communications, English, English Literature, Social Sciences or other related fields.
* Minimum one year working experience.
* Ability to digest large amounts of news reports and statistics (including financial reports) quickly and churn them out into suitable formats accurately.
* Ability to write and perform under stressful conditions and tight deadlines, constantly.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
* Internet savvy with great research skills.
* Interpersonal skills.
* Competence in written and spoken English AND Chinese.
* Willingness to work overtime.
* Willingness to travel frequently, and on some occasions, alone.
* Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status.
* Must have experience in writing for ENGLISH publications
* Must speak Mandarin and/or Cantonese
* THOSE WITHOUT EXPERIENCE OR PROVEN COMPETENCE IN ENGLISH WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
