To support our front-line business, our Translation Services Department offers a comprehensive range of Chinese and English language services: from translation, editing and writing to the provision of language training courses. The English Editor, while based in Hong Kong, will be working in a team with fellow editors and translators across our offices in China.

English Editor

Responsibilities

* To edit documents prepared in English
* To edit English translations
* To prepare documents in English
* To work with Translation colleagues to interpret English documents to be translated into Chinese
* To advise and coach colleagues on the use of English
* To deliver English training courses
* To undertake work-related research

Experience

* Native English speaker
* A recognised degree in English or a related discipline
* Excellent business and technical writing skills, preferably with editing/journalism experience
* Teaching or training experience in English or related subjects
* A basic understanding of the principles of accounting, banking and finance would be a definite advantage
* An understanding of Chinese culture or previous related work experience is preferred
* Knowledge of Putonghua would be another definite advantage
