Journalism has played a large role in the success and fame of Dubai Shopping Festival. Since the first edition of DSF in 1996, local journalism, along with regional and international media, has helped communicate the festival’s vision and mission to audiences around the world. The event has now become one of the world’s biggest and most important annual festivals, attracting tourists from all across the world. The Dubai Shopping Festival is dedicated to recognizing journalists for their efforts and coverage of the event with the DSF Journalism Award, which has been with the festival since its beginning.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, DSF 2011 is now inviting entries for Journalism Award.
The Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment, organizers of Dubai Shopping Festival, has begun receiving entries for the DSF 2011 Journalism Award, an initiative established since 1996 to honour the efforts of journalists in the UAE and the region.
Categories for this year’s Award are Best Feature (local newspapers and magazines), DSF Prolific Writer (local newspapers), Best Editorial and Design Team, Best Feature (online portals), and Best Feature (regional newspapers and magazines). The Best Editorial and Design Team award will be given to a team in one newspaper. All other categories will have a winner and runners-up position.
While winners will take home a trophy and prize money of $5000, runners-up will receive a trophy and $3000. The Best Editorial and Design Team will get $10,000.
