Job Description: Artist Fellowship

Approximately 25 hours/week

The Kulture Klub Collaborative Artist Fellowship is an opportunity for an emerging artist who wants to develop a practice embedded within a unique community. The fellow will work with the KKC community of young people (age 16-21) experiencing homelessness. The fellow will assist with shorter term Artist-In Residence activity and develop her/his own project over the course of six months. This culminating project will emerge from collaboration with KKC Youth Advisory Council. For this pilot term, the fellow will be a major contributor to an Art Garden at Archdale Apartments, a transitional housing site for homeless youth.

In tune with the multi-disciplinary nature of KKC, candidates from any field of aesthetic practice are encouraged to apply. This position could be a great match for dancers, illustrators, set designers, puppeteers, film makers, graphic designers, animators, storytellers, digital artists, poets, painters, song-writers, printmakers, fashion designers, sculptors, and many things outside of and in between these media.

Desired qualifications: MFA or comparable experience. Experience working with youth. Exhibition and residency experience. Artists with farm or garden experience are highly desired. Artists must have an interest in a social or participatory practice.
