Research Assistant Professor in Humanities Programme
The appointee is expected to conduct independent research and assist senior academic staff to guide postgraduate students and research assistants. He/She is also expected to teach two to three courses per academic year.
The appointee should be able to teach in English and/or Chinese and a range of introductory and upper level broad-based, interdisciplinary Humanities core courses in the Programme. Preferable teaching and research areas include some of the following: Critical Theories, Cultural Studies, Film Studies, Visual Culture, Intellectual History, Performance Studies and Creative Writing.
Other responsibilities include related research and publication, and supervision of undergraduate honours projects and postgraduate theses. Dedication to excellence in teaching as well as research is essential, as is commitment to work in a bilingual and bicultural setting.
Applicants should possess a relevant doctoral degree or equivalent qualification with excellent research track record. Successful experience in research project application and teaching experience is preferred.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of three years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and good performance.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
