Assistant Professor in English Literary Studies (Ref.: 20100828)
Applications are invited for appointment as Assistant Professor in English Literary Studies in the School of English of the Faculty of Arts, from as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal. An appointee with demonstrated excellence and contribution will be considered for tenure towards the end of the second three-year contract.
The search is open to scholars in literary and cultural studies in English, with special interests in one or several of the following areas: creative writing, drama, cross-cultural studies, and China-West studies in English. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in literary studies, an active research record and relevant teaching experience, and be prepared to teach and supervise at the B.A., M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. levels. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical/dental benefits.
