Preliminary Process

The Hong Kong Undergraduate Scholarship Program (HKUG) is an informal group of topuniversities in Hong Kong that have offered to provide scholarships for Myanmar nationals.Participating universities are :·The University of Hong Kong,·City University of Hong Kong,·Hong Kong Polytechnic University,·Hong Kong Baptist University,·Lingnan University,
If you think you may be qualified for a Hong Kong scholarship, you are invited to start the applicationprocess by filling out this form and submitting it to Student Support Service (SSS)hkugscholarship@gmail.com by October 29th 2010, or December 3rd 2010. Please apply as early aspossible. SSS will use this form to assess your qualifications and determine whether you are eligiblefor admission to any of the participating universities. If your preliminary application is approved, SSSwill help you prepare your scholarship and university applications and offer financial assistance tocover the cost of the application fees.

Timeline

The university application process will take place from December 2010 to March 2011. Universityadmission results will be released between May and June 2011, depending on the university andprogram of study. Courses will begin in August 2011.

Requirements

Admission to Hong Kong universities is extremely competitive, so please do not apply unless you meetthe following criteria:

You have complete d at least one year university from Myanmar or abroad OR the GeneralEducation Diploma (GED) OR five International General Certificate of Secondary Education(IGCSE) Exams by a grade C or higher OR formal or non-formal education equivalent to 12thStandard.

You have excellent oral and written English language skills.After reviewing this form, SSS will assist applicants who may be eligible to take a diagnostic TOEFLtest. Only those scoring 550 or above will be invited to continue the application process.

You have a strong interest and/or experience in one of the subject areas listed below.
