From Pauline Kaldas: I am in the process of putting together an anthology of writing by young Arab Americans (up to age 18). Poetry, personal essays, and creative nonfiction will be considered for publication. The focus of the anthology will be on issues relating to Arab American identity and the experience of young Arab Americans in the United States. There are no specific restrictions regarding style of writing and there are no length requirements. Work relating to any aspect of being Arab American will be considered. Writers may be immigrants, born in the U.S., or have one Arab parent as long as they define themselves as Arab American.
Please type your work in Times New Roman, 12 point font. Poetry should be single spaced and essays and nonfiction should be double spaced. Put your name, address, and email at the top of the first page and number your pages. Writers may submit as many pieces as they want. Please include a short paragraph about yourself, stating your name, age, where you live, what you like to do, and your connection to Arab culture. Work should be submitted as an email attachment in Microsoft Word document format. In the subject line, write “submission for anthology.” You can also submit work by mail.
