To promote awareness on Japan and Japanese culture as well as preservation of historical sites and cultural legacies of the world, UTSA’s East Asia Institute and the Institute of Texan Cultures will co‐host “Tea, Garden and Zen” photo contest and “The Importance of Preservation” essay contest. The photo contest is open to all K‐12 and college levels and the essay contest is open to middle/high school and college levels only. 1st‐place winners’ works will be put on display along with the exhibition and 1stplace winners will also be invited to attend the opening night reception to receive an award and a certificate.
